EasyPark wins Swedish Mobile Utility Service of the Year Award!
Yesterday evening EasyPark won the Gold Mobile 2013 Service of the Year award in the Utility category. The gala honoured the year’s leading innovators and best mobile companies. Other contenders for the same award included the Swedish Social Insurance Agency’s My Pages, The Banks’ Bank-ID-app, Apoteket’s Mobile Prescription and the Tink personal finance app.
The Jury gave the following reasons: Saving time, saving money, avoiding parking tickets has paid dividends for this company whose mobile parking solution is expanding at lightning speed inside and outside Sweden. Being able to pay for parking via an app has resulted in well over two million parking sessions, and the new function that allows the user to select either a personal or corporate account has widened both the utility and the customer base.
“This is the result of a long time spent constantly improving and developing our service. Our motivation is making it easy for both our private and corporate customers to pay for the exact parking time, without the bother of coins, cards or time slots to worry about. We are now available on all mobile platforms and this has made us relevant in the motorist’s daily life. A growth increase of 188% in Sweden speaks for itself,” notes Anders Bäck of EasyPark Sweden.
EasyPark is growing rapidly in Sweden and Europe – both with local authorities and private parking companies. More and more local authorities and parking operators are realising the value of offering the service to their customers, at the same time as they save money on a cash and card-free parking solution, thanks to the mobile solutions provided by EasyPark. A major advantage of EasyPark is the roaming it offers, i.e. that the service works in around 40 towns and cities, as well as with 20 parking companies, which add up to hundreds of thousands of parking spaces in Sweden. It even works in the other Nordic countries , Germany, Austria and Italy. This makes it easy for motorists to use the EasyPark service virtually anywhere they park – even away from their home town – from the same account and using a single app.
“It’s our desire to serve the needs of both motorist and parking operators that challenge us to constantly develop the service we provide. For example, we recently launched a new function that enables the user to manage their residential parking via the app, which drastically reduces administration for the local authority and at the same time makes it simpler for the consumer; another function is the ‘double account’, which allows customers to quickly and easily choose if parking is to be paid for privately via a debit/credit card or via a monthly invoice to the company,” explains Anders Bäck.
